About

Built to make the job hunt less awful.

Why this exists

The job market has a noise problem. Most job seekers don't lack motivation — they lack signal. They open five tabs, refresh the same boards, send applications into the void, and slowly burn out from the process itself.

The tools built to help haven't helped. They've made it worse. More applications, more auto-applies, more alerts for roles that were never a fit. Volume dressed up as productivity.

Alenea is the opposite bet: fewer, better matches beat hundreds of mediocre ones. If the algorithm can explain why a job scored high, you can make an informed decision instead of guessing. If the interface is calm, the work feels manageable — and you actually finish what you start.

Who's building this

I'm Boris — the sole developer behind Alenea. I work on this in the open, which means features ship when they're genuinely ready, priorities are set by what's actually useful, and there's no product roadmap built to impress investors.

v1.1 is live. There's more coming. If something is broken or missing, I want to know.

What we believe

  • Precision beats volume.

Five matches you actually want to apply to are worth more than fifty you'll ignore. Alenea is built to narrow, not flood.

  • Explainability matters.

You should know why a role scored high — not just that it did. Black-box matching shifts the anxiety to a different place. It doesn't remove it.

  • Calm is a design decision.

The interface should reduce anxiety, not amplify it. Every layout choice, animation, and piece of copy is evaluated against that standard.

  • Pricing that respects you.

Sprint exists because not everyone needs a monthly subscription. Sometimes you need 30 days of full power and then you're done. That should be an option.
